Throttle sensor issues in my acura integra?

The throttle sensor in my integra messed up so I put a brand new one and I don't think its reading it. I just put it on is there something else I'm supposed to pu or do? The caf idles too high at about 4500 at cold and 2500 at warm. When I flooredit it red lined at 8000 to 8200 now it redlines at 5500 and I lost significant accleration and gas milliage... I don't know hat to do..please help its a ls automatic 2000 shell (97 engine I've had it for 5 months and it has some electrical problems...ex defrost used to rattle and interior lights don't work
