How can i get my gerbil to use the bathroom in one spot in her cage?

i want my gerbil to use the bathroom in one spot in her cage. that way i can spot clean her cage. and is there any type of like sand or anything that my gerbil can use the bathroom on. like maybe corn flour or wheat or anything.
